Work Begun on Ventura’s Tallest Building

OXNARD — Work has begun on a $38-million, 21-story office building in the Financial Plaza district of Oxnard. It will become the tallest building in Ventura County.
The structure will stand 292 feet high, contain 313,000 square feet of space and will occupy an 8.72-acre site north of Vineyard Avenue at the west end of the city.
The developer is Martin V. Smith and Associates of Oxnard; the building was designed by Ebbe Videriksen Architect and Associates of Sherman Oaks and is expected to be completed by next January.
To be constructed on the same site, beginning in April, are a restaurant and a multilevel garage.
It is estimated that the project will generate $24 million annually in salaries, $355,000 in property taxes and $300,000 in state sales tax.
