56 Arrested in Raid on Cockfight at Auto Shop

NEW YORK — Police and humane society agents battered down doors to break up a cockfight at a Brooklyn auto repair shop Saturday, arresting 56 people and recovering 29 birds. Those held were charged with violating agriculture and markets laws, police said.
