Council to Decide Open Space Limits

MONTEREY PARK — The City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday to decide how much open space should be required in development plans for apartments and condominiums.
Councilmen have said they will raise the open space requirements, but they must decide whether patios and balconies will be included in the calculations and determine minimum sizes for other open areas.
The council also will decide whether to make the new requirements effective immediately or wait until July 1 when new building design regulations are scheduled to go into effect.
