Pepperdine Beats Cold-Shooting USD Women

The University of San Diego women’s basketball team shot just 21% from the field in the first half and lost to Pepperdine, 47-39, Friday night. The Toreras scored only 13 points and Pepperdine led, 24-13, at halftime.
Maureen Formico had 17 points and 17 rebounds for the Waves. The only USD player to hit double figures was Debbie Theroux, who scored 11 points and had 13 rebounds.
