Eagles, Philadelphia Agree on Practice Sites

PHILADELPHIA —  The Philadelphia Eagles and the city have agreed on a site for two new practice fields that were promised as part of a financial package aimed at keeping the team from moving to another city.

City officials said the location was a grassy area in South Philadelphia that had served as a buffer between the Veterans Stadium parking lot and houses.

Joel Ralph, stadium manager, said the $2 million project was subject to approval of the Veterans Stadium Neighborhood Assn. Some 197 families were being polled on the proposal.

Besides the two practice fields, the city would build an artificial turf field, 240-by-180 feet, covered with a fabric bubble at the north end of JFK Stadium.
