Greece OKs Israeli Use of Air Corridors

ATHENS — The Greek government granted permission to El Al Israel Airlines to use new air corridors through the Athens Airport Flight Information Region, Transportation Minister George Papadimitriou said Saturday.
El Al made the request after Libyan leader Col. Moammar Kadafi threatened to retaliate for the forcing down of a Libyan passenger plane by Israeli fighters two weeks ago. Israel decided to move its air routes to avoid approaching Libyan airspace.
