Unbeaten Mater Dei Still No. 1 in Poll
Mater Dei High School continued its reign as the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. high school basketball poll while Brea-Olinda moved up another notch.
The Monarchs have won 50 consecutive games during the past two seasons. The Wildcats jumped from fifth to fourth after an impressive victory over Valencia. In the featured game this week, eighth-ranked Mission Viejo plays host to second-ranked Capistrano Valley at 7:30 Friday night.
