“Profile/Best of Emmylou Harris.” Warner Bros. Every time a new film biography is released about a female country music star (from Loretta Lynn and “Coal Miner’s Daughter” to Patsy Cline and “Sweet Dreams”), you hear claims about how that singer was the greatest ever. Don’t believe them. There hasn’t been a biography on her yet, but Harris is, on balance, the finest female country singer. In this greatest-hits package, she proves her case by outclassing rivals like Tammy Wynette, Kitty Wells and Cline on songs those singers made famous. “Profile II” is less consistent, but also recommended.
