Thought It Was Warm? 86 Ties Jan. 26 Mark
The temperature peaked at 86 degrees again Sunday at the Los Angeles Civic Center and, for the second consecutive day, that reading tied the record high for the date.
Saturday’s 86 equalled the record set in 1951; Sunday’s tied the mark reached in 1971, the National Weather Service said.
Forecasters said the high-pressure area that has been bringing summer-like weather to the Southland is gradually weakening. Skies will be mostly sunny again today with highs in the upper 70s expected. Some clouds are likely to show up on Tuesday with readings in the low 70s.
