Texas Instruments sued nine Asian companies.
The Dallas-based company accused one Korean and eight Japanese firms of infringing on TI patents for semiconductor memory chips and selling them in the U.S. without a license. Companies named included Hitachi, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Oki and Samsung. In addition, the company plans to file a related action with the International Trade Commission.
