USC’s School of Urban and Regional Planning will offer the West Coast’s first master’s degree in real estate development, beginning in the fall semester.
Alan Kreditor, dean of the school, said a 36-unit program has been developed with the help of a grant from the Urban Land Institute and financial support from local developers. Southern California is a leader in the development field, he added, and “we expect our graduates to be the future national leaders of that industry.”
Degree requirements will include graduate studies in real estate finance and law, the development process, principles of urban growth and structure, design and construction and planning criteria.
