LONDON — Iraqi troops have killed at least 300 people in a military drive against Kurdish civilians in northern Iraq, the Times of London said Friday.
The newspaper said that the offensive had taken a heavy toll on civilians in the Kurdish city of Sulaymaniyah where large numbers of army deserters and suspected guerrillas had been arrested and summarily executed.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office told Reuters an anti-Kurdish offensive was under way in northern Iraq.
