Brea : Woman Dies After Her Car Plows Into Truck
An Orange woman was killed Thursday on Carbon Canyon Road in Brea in an accident that blocked all traffic on the thoroughfare for nearly four hours.
The woman, whose name was withheld by police, was driving west on Carbon Canyon from San Bernardino when her Ford Mustang crossed the center lane, said Officer Guy Gulickson. The driver of a one-ton flatbed truck, towing a trailer and heading east, tried to avoid the car and skidded into a guardrail. But the car hit the truck at its midsection, shearing off the car’s roof. The woman died at the scene.
According to witnesses, the woman was driving in excess of 70 m.p.h. and had passed several other drivers in no-passing zones shortly before the accident.
