Library Tragicomedy
Perhaps it was being tired of the little government by committee nasties . . . city councils voting themselves illegally high raises by masked ballot, the mayor involving himself and his time for high-visibility interests near election time or the capitulation of civic representatives to interests trying to eliminate park lands or even walkways for the citizenry.
I’m sure it was a combination of reasons that gave me such cause to write expressing my admiration for Sam Hall Kaplan’s “Tragicomedy article (Dec. 1.).” The sensitivity and straightforwardness of your satire, the concern you demonstrate for the people and for your ability and craftsmanship. Don’t stop.
