To be sung to the tune of “Yankee Doodle” (“Fleischmann Changes Mind, Will Stay in L.A.,” by Marc Shulgold, Dec. 7):

Ernest Fleischmann made a plan

that he would go to Par-is;

found that he’d pay taxes there

and that would sure embar-rass!

Ernest Fleischmann changed his mind,

Paris was too chanc-ey;

the trustees would be hard to fool,

and taxes were too fan-cy!

The trustees in Los Angeles

need not their hair to tea-ar,

can roll once more upon their backs

their paws up in the ai-ir!
