A San Diego police task force arrested 39 people Thursday night on charges of selling a variety of illegal drugs to undercover officers.
The task force, consisting of narcotics detectives and street gang units, has arrested 231 people in Southeast San Diego since Nov. 1 in an undercover sting operation aimed at stemming drug trafficking, said Bill Robinson, a police spokesman.
Arrest warrants were delivered Thursday at both commercial and residential locations where undercover officers had purchased heroin, cocaine, PCP and marijuana, Robinson said.
More than $40,000 in cash and 19 guns were confiscated during the arrests, he said.
