Gary Kranz, identified by witnesses as the mastermind of the Tulane University basketball scandal, was sentenced in New Orleans to serve three months in jail, pay a $55,000 fine and perform 1,500 hours of community service.
Witnesses testified that it was Kranz, who obtained cocaine for the Tulane basketball players, involved three of them in the theft of basketball uniforms and eventually broached the subject of fixing games.
