Semtech Cuts Losses, Cites Higher Sales, Cost-Cutting
Semtech Corp., a Newbury Park semiconductor maker, reported sharply reduced losses on 11% higher sales for the third fiscal quarter ended Nov. 2.
The company posted a net loss of $195,000, or 11 cents per share, versus a loss of $389,000, or 21 cents a share, for the year-ago period ended Oct. 31. The current quarter’s revenue was $3.4 million, up from $3.1 million.
Gigi Auchter, Semtech’s assistant controller, attributed the improved showing to higher sales and cost cutting. She also said that manufacturing efficiency has been improved.
