Solana Beach Resident Injured in Auto Accident

SOLANA BEACH — A 45-year-old man was listed in critical condition with face and internal injuries Thursday after his car crashed into a telephone pole.
Frederick Bauer of Solana Beach going about 50 m.p.h. when he hit the pole at Lomas Santa Fe Drive and Glencrest Road, paramedics said.
A passing motorist notified the Solana Beach Fire Department of the accident about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters used a pry bar and sledge hammer to free Bauer from the wreckage.
Bauer was flown to UC San Diego Medical Center in a Life Flight helicopter.
