Fatalities and drunk-driving arrests were down this Thanksgiving holiday, the California Highway Patrol said. In the Los Angeles area there were three traffic deaths, all in Los Angeles, CHP Officer Diane Lowery said. Last year the patrol reported nine deaths, six in county areas and three in the city, for the same time period, Lowery said. Los Angeles-area arrests for drunk driving totaled 455 this year, about 20% fewer than last year’s 582, she said.
