3 Airlines Trim N.Y.-Florida Fares
Another fare war broke out Monday in the New York to Florida skyway, with People Express, Eastern Airlines and Delta Air Lines offering $49 one-way fares between New York and five Florida cities--Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando and Tampa. The $49 fare will be available Mondays through Thursdays between today and Dec. 17.
For weekend travel on Friday through Sunday flights, the fare will be $69.
The Eastern and Delta announcements came only hours after People Express set a $49 one-way fare for weekday travel between Miami and Newark, N.J.
All the fares are valid through Dec. 17. Weekend fares for the Newark to Miami route will be $69.
