HOME TECH : TURN-ONS AND TURN-OFFS IN CURRENT HOME ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES : VIDEOCASSETTES : Excellent Good Fair Poor
“Clue VCR Mystery Game.” “Rich Little’s VCR Charades Game.” Parker Brothers. $39.99 each. Here’s proof that classics should be left alone. As a video, “Clue” makes a great board game, and charades a nice parlor game--both sans the electric connection. For $30 more than the original “Clue” you get an overblown, hokey video of 18 whodunits (making you Sherlock by Round 19). And in this silly video version of charades, Rich Little manages to act the Compleat Fool. Better off investing in a $5 guide to movies on TV if you need charade titles--it’d also be a guide to finding more watchable videos.
