Donkey Not Put to Pasture, Democrats Say

WASHINGTON — The Democratic Party is not dropping the donkey as its symbol, merely looking for a modern logo for its letterhead, a party spokesman said today.
New York magazine reported Sunday that the party would drop the donkey, but Terry Michael, the party’s press secretary, said the donkey was never officially adopted anyway, and was not involved in the search for a new letterhead.
