The undefeated United States team, led by Craig Buck and Karch Kiraly, beat Japan, 15-10, 15-5, 15-2, to win the men’s title of the eight-nation World Cup volleyball tournament before 14,000 fans at Tokyo.
The Americans were 6-0 going into today’s game against second-place Czechoslovakia, which is 5-1. Even if the U.S. loses, it has clinched the championship because of tiebreaking procedures.
