Geneva Summit Post-Mortems
Dow Jones said it better than any of the pundits: up 234 points on the day the President returned from Geneva, a solid victory for the military-industrialists, the New Right, the stand-patters, the Cap Weinbergers, the economic-royalists who own or control much of America’s business.
Nary a bone for the simple people, who asked for little more than a slight breach in the arms race, a lessening of tensions with the Soviets, perhaps an abandonment of some of the wild weapons of destruction, and maybe even some moves towards peace on this planet.
