Four Volleyball Teams Make State Playoffs

SAN DIEGO — Granite Hills, the San Diego Section 3-A runner-up, qualified for the California State girls’ volleyball playoffs Monday night with a 15-2, 15-8, 15-10 win over San Pasqual, the 2-A runner-up, at the Federal Building.
The Eagles (23-7) will join Poway, La Jolla and Parker, who all qualified for the state playoffs with section championships Saturday night. The state playoffs begin tonight for Granite Hills when the Grossmont League champion meets Manhattan Beach’s Mira Costa, ranked the No. 1 team in the nation by Volleyball Monthly. San Pasqual finished 19-8.
