Willie Gutierrez of Moorpark twice was knocked out of bounds short of the end zone on two-point-conversion attempts as St. Bonaventure held on to earn a berth in the Desert-Mountain Conference playoffs. . . . Trailing 14-3 at halftime, Moorpark scored early in the third quarter on quarterback Tim Rothanzl’s two-yard run after Charlie Sullenbarger blocked a punt by Manny Fernandez. . . . Chris Dykes ended a Moorpark threat late in the game by recovering a fumble at the St. Bonaventure five. St. Bonaventure then drove 95 yards and David Brandt kicked a 33-yard field goal.
KEY PLAYERS
Mike Walsh (SB) knocked Willie Gutierrez (M) out of bounds on a crucial conversion attempt with 56 seconds left in the game. Quarterback Larry Gonzales (SB) completed 6 of 14 passes for 112 yards and 1 touchdown. Walsh caught two passes for 74 yards. Gutierrez gained 62 yards on 13 tries and completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Andre Green (M).Tim Rothanzl (M) had one interception.
