Ground Breaking for Mixed-Use Complex Slated
Ground breaking is scheduled in December for a $25-million mixed-use commercial complex being developed by Sudberry Properties Inc. of La Jolla on 22 acres in Oceanside at the southeast corner of College Boulevard and California 78.
Phase 1 will consist of a commercial shopping center totaling 153,000 square feet and anchored by a 42,000-square-foot Food Basket supermarket; a 21,300-square-foot Pay Less super drugstore, and a 15,000-square-foot Loehmann’s women’s fashion store. Phase 2 will consist of more than 1,700 feet of frontage on the highway, and it will include a 120-unit motel, a 35,000-square-foot office and retail complex, a dinner house, two fast-food outlets, a service station and two pads for auto-related use.
Known as Tri-City Crossroads, the project, designed by Brown Leary Architecture & Planning, is scheduled for completion in October, 1986, according to Iliff, Thorn & Co., leasing agents.
