Uniroyal plans to sell most of its chemical unit.

The company said it is selling its Uniroyal Chemical subsidiary to help pay off debts incurred in the leveraged buy-out of the parent company in September. The subsidiary will be sold as an entity and not as individual business units, according to a spokeswomen. The subsidiary produces agricultural and industrial chemicals, specialized rubber and plastics and other specialty chemicals.
