Medal of Honor

The proposal of Sen. Alphonse D’Amato (R-N.Y.) and Rep. Ted Weiss (D-N.Y.) to award Leon Klinghoffer the Medal of Honor is a publicity-seeking disgrace. Victims are not heroes, and this proposal dishonors every American who has rightfully earned the medal, many of whom willingly gave their lives for our country.
I hope none of our California representatives will be sucked into this shameful exploitation of a terrorist victim. I believe their time would be better spent seeking remedies to terrorism than buying votes with innocent blood.
