CS Long Beach on National TV for First Time

Cal State Long Beach will try to stay alive in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. football race when it plays San Jose State tonight at 6 at Veterans Stadium.
The game will be televised by ESPN, marking the first time a 49er football team has been on national TV.
Long Beach is 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the PCAA. San Jose is 2-7 and 2-3.
Long Beach is in second place behind Fresno State (5-0). The 49ers will play host to Fresno Nov. 16.
Three Long Beach players are ranked nationally--quarterback Doug Gaynor, who is fifth in total offense with 273.3 yards a game; split end Charles Lockett, fifth in receiving with 56 catches, and fullback Mark Templeton, 18th in receiving with 43 catches.
