No. 1 Palomar Captures the Cypress College Wrestling Tournament

No. 1 Palomar College scored 96 3/4 points to win the 13-team Cypress College Wrestling Tournament at Thorpe House Gymnasium II Saturday.
Sixth-ranked Cerritos was second with 76 3/4 points, No. 2 Cuesta was third with 49, No. 5 Cypress was fourth with 39 3/4 and unranked Moorpark was fifth with 27. Golden West was ninth with 18 points, and Rancho Santiago finished 12th with 15 1/2.
Cuesta’s Cisco Gomez, the champion at 137 pounds, was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler.
Cypress’ Sean Goodwin pinned Tom Howe of Cerritos with 5 seconds left to win the 193-pound title.
