Offensive Record at CS Long Beach Sought by Gaynor
Quarterback Doug Gaynor will try to become Cal State Long Beach’s all-time total offense leader today when the 49ers play the University of Pacific at Stockton.
Gaynor, who is averaging 277 yards a game, needs 137 yards to surpass Todd Dillon’s record of 5,588. Gaynor has completed 71% of his passes this season for 2,299 yards and 17 touchdowns.
The 49ers (4-4) are tied with Cal State Fullerton for second place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. with a 2-1 record, trailing Fresno State, which is 4-0. Pacific is 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the PCAA.
