Garden Grove : La Quinta Rolls to a 54-7 Win

La Quinta High School exploded for 35 second-half points Friday night as the Aztecs routed Rancho Alamitos, 54-7, in a Garden Grove League game in Bolsa Grande Stadium.
The win improved La Quinta’s record to 3-0 in league and 6-2 overall. Rancho Alamitos is 0-3 and 2-5.
The Vaqueros tied league-leading La Quinta, 7-7, early in the second quarter before La Quinta scored twice to take a 19-7 lead at the half.
Then, in the third quarter, the Aztecs scored 21 unanswered points to put the game away.
Quarterback Derek Debbs led La Quinta’s attack by throwing for three touchdowns and running for one more.
In other Garden Grove League action:
Santiago 24, Garden Grove 22--The Cavaliers built a 24-7 lead and then held on to defeat the Argonauts in Garden Grove Stadium.
The win improved Santiago’s league record to 2-1 and overall record to 7-1. Garden Grove is 1-2 and 1-7.
