Chess Game Adjourned; Kasparov Is Favored

MOSCOW — The 21st game of the world chess championship between titlist Anatoly Karpov and challenger Gary Kasparov was adjourned Thursday after Karpov, playing black, sealed his 41st move.
Experts said that Kasparov appeared to be in a good position to win the game when play resumes tonight.
Kasparov leads 11-9 in the 24-game series. The 22-year-old challenger has scored four victories, which count for one point each, while Karpov has won two games. A draw counts as a half point for each player.
