Sex Offender Slain at Folsom

FOLSOM, Calif. — A 29-year-old convicted sex offender from Riverside County was the fifth inmate of Folsom Prison to be stabbed to death this year by another prisoner.
Officials said Monday that the victim’s identity could not be released until relatives are notified. They said he was found in his cell by guards and was bleeding from head, chest and back wounds. He was dead on arrival at the infirmary.
A weapon was found at the scene, but no suspect was immediately identified, officers said.
It was the 176th stabbing of the year.
