Sierracin Reports Loss of $707,000 in 3rd Quarter

Sierracin Corp. reported a loss of $707,000, or 21 cents per share, for its third quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with earnings for the same period a year ago of $1.5 million, or 42 cents.
Sales for the quarter were $17.2 million, down 17% from last year’s third quarter.
For the nine months ended Sept. 30, the Sylmar aerospace and electronics company lost $1.3 million, or 37 cents per share, against earnings of $3.3 million, or 93 cents, during the same period last year.
Sales for the period were $55.6 million, down 11% from the same period last year.
The company refused to comment on its performance, but Sierracin has been suffering from the general slowdown in the electronics industry.
