The espionage trial of Navy spy suspect Jerry A. Whitworth, scheduled to begin Nov. 12 in San Francisco, has been delayed until Jan. 13 by U.S. District Judge John P. Vukasin. Whitworth’s lawyer, James Larson, said he needs more time to obtain an FBI security clearance to examine classified documents in the case and to sift through a 10-foot-high stack of potential evidence.
