A Leucadia couple, both retired schoolteachers, were found shot dead Wednesday in their East Hillcrest Street home in what the Sheriff’s Department reported was an apparent murder-suicide.
A Sheriff’s spokesman said Richard Joseph Murawski, 58, apparently shot his wife, Alice, also 58, as she slept in their bed Wednesday morning, then turned a rifle found at the scene on himself. The spokesman said autopsies would be performed this morning, and that there was no known motive.
