Pierce 23, UC Santa Barbara 14--Quarterback Josh Davis completed 11 of 18 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns leading the Brahmas past the Gauchos, 23-14, in a 23-14 nonconference victory at Pierce.
Davis, a freshman, hit tight end Mark Setterberg with a 58-yard touchdown pass with 42 seconds left in the first half to give the Brahmas (4-2) a 10-6 advantage.
In the third quarter, Davis, who was playing in place of injured starter Steve Haddad, found receiver Anthony Sargent open for a 31-yard scoring toss.
Sophomore tailback Tyrone Beaulieu scored on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter to break open a 16-14 game.
Senior running Tracy Taylor scored both UCSB (1-3) touchdowns and added a two-point conversion.
