Carters Tour the Himalayas

KATMANDU, Nepal — Former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, arrived today for a vacation that will include a trek to the Himalayas and possibly a trip to the base of Mt. Everest, officials said.
The Carters, accompanied during their 13-day stay by Richard Blum, husband of San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein, plan to travel to Mt. Annapurna in western Nepal.
