A Dallas businessman, accused last month of providing illegal cash payments and a leased sports car to Texas A&M; quarterback Kevin Murray, said his relationship with the athlete was legitimate.
“I haven’t done anything wrong,” Rod Dockery, a 1966 graduate of Texas A&M; and a former cheerleader, told the Dallas Morning News. He said he had done nothing more than given Murray a part-time job and leased an automobile to him.
Dockery acknowledged that he gave Murray $4,150 in 1983 and 1984, but said Murray earned the money by cleaning printing equipment at one of Dockery’s businesses.
