Volleyball Roundup : Pacific Beats San Diego State
The San Diego State women’s volleyball team continued its slide in Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. play Tuesday, losing in three games at University of the Pacific.
The No. 14 Aztecs lost 15-9, 15-12, 15-11 to No. 4 UOP, and fell to 2-5 in conference action and 17-10 overall. UOP is 5-0 in the PCAA and 17-2 overall.
Freshman Elaina Oden led the Tigers with 16 kills and senior Therese Boyle added 11. Sophomore Angelica Jackson had 12 kills for SDSU, followed by freshman Kris Morton with 11.
In other action:
UC San Diego 3, Point Loma College 0--The Tritons (15-12), ranked 12th among NCAA Division 3 teams, swept the Crusaders, 15-12, 15-5, 15-10, at Point Loma.
Carol Lipson led UCSD with nine kills and seven aces. Jennifer Pettigrew, who graduated from La Jolla High School, and Janet Hughes, a graduate of Parker, added seven kills apiece.
