Diceon Electronics Inc. said income for its fiscal year ended Sept. 30 was a record $6.9 million, up 15% from $6 million the year earlier. Most of the increase came from an $895,000 fourth-quarter insurance settlement for losses incurred in a fire at Diceon’s Chatsworth manufacturing plant.
Sales for the year reached a record $55 million, up 5.2% from $52.3 million the prior year, the Irvine-based maker of computer circuit boards said. Increased sales to telecommunications and instrumentation companies helped boost results, the company said.
For the fourth quarter, Diceon reported net income of $1.9 million, up 90% from $1 million for the year-ago quarter, and sales of $14 million, a 2.2% increase from $13.7 million in the year-ago quarter.
Diceon operates four plants and employs 660 people. The company said its Chatsworth facility has been repaired and is operating at full capacity.
