Monsanto announced an early retirement plan.

As part of a previously reported corporate restructuring designed to reduce its number of employees, Monsanto will offer a voluntary, special-incentive retirement plan to 3,800 employees who may elect to retire on Nov. 1 or Dec. 1. The offer is being made to certain U.S. employees who are eligible to receive a Monsanto salaried pension, are 50 years old or older, have at least 10 years service and whose years of service when added to their age equals at least 70.
