Former Sen. Harrison A. Williams Jr.’s latest bid for a new trial on his Abscam conviction has been rejected by the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York. The court rejected without comment arguments filed Oct. 4. Williams, a New Jersey Democrat, has already served two-thirds of his three-year sentence for bribe-taking.
