Cal State Northridge Women Run Fifth in Cross-Country
STANFORD — The Cal State Northridge women’s cross-country team, ranked sixth in Division II, finished fifth in the Stanford Invitational Cross-Country Meet. UC Davis, ranked third, finished eighth.
Stanford won the team competition in the women’s 5,000 meters and the men’s 10,000.
Alexandra Aguirre led the Lady Matadors with a time of 17:54.2, which placed her 10th in the 5,000-meters competition. Teammate Nancy Bowman finished 16th with a 18:06.9. CSUN’s Tammy McCarty and Heather Brookes were 23rd and 24th.
Northridge’s men finished 15th. Kevin Sellers (105th at 35:42.1) turned in the Matadors’ best performance.
