The match, part of the 1985 USA-USSR Heavyweight Invitational Series, is slated Oct. 23 at the RPI Fieldhouse in Troy, a spokesman said. The series’ first match was scheduled earlier for Oct. 19 in Atlantic City, N.J.
The competition features fights in the 178-pound, 201-pound and over-201 weight categories, with eight bouts planned for each match.
“We are very excited about this competition,” said James Fox, director of the boxing federation.
