New York Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez confirmed that his wife has filed a $12.5-million personal injury petition against him, but declined to comment on the suit.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Susan Hernandez filed the petition this week against her estranged husband.

Hernandez lives in San Francisco during the offseason, while his wife, their two daughters and a third child of Mrs. Hernandez’s from a previous marriage live in St. Louis County. The couple has been separated for two years.
