A New Magazine Debuts in Today’s Issue of The Times
The Times begins publication today of a new general interest weekly, Los Angeles Times Magazine.
The magazine will feature profiles and interviews with personalities of current interest; articles about the adventures, recreation and aspirations of people here; news of creative, scientific and social progress in Southern California.
It also will incorporate the food, fashion, wine, gardening, residential interiors and the other features that have until now been found in Home Magazine, which has been discontinued.
In the first issue, Harry Belafonte, the singer and civil rights leader, speaks candidly of his experience with prejudice, as well as how he assesses the current racial climate.
Regular columns will feature Jack Smith, Miv Schaaf and John Riley, as well as information on pets and The Times’ crossword puzzle.
